Inclusion of Paris rooftops on UNESCO list of world
heritage sites: VMZINC is supporting the application
On the initiative of the mayor of the 9th district, the city of Paris has decided to support the application process for the rooftops of Paris to be listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. A support committee was set up which VMZINC naturally joined.

VMZINC's history is closely intertwined with that of the architecture of Paris and its Haussmann period. For almost 200 years now, the brand has been used by roofers to clad and preserve the zinc roofs of the city.
On 5 February, the Municipality of Paris, in partnership with the Greater Paris Association of Climatic Engineering and Plumbing & Metal Roofing Companies, VMZINC and two other industrials (Velux and Pont-A-Mousson), officially launched the Support Committee for this application.
Whatever the result, we will need to be patient. The time scale for the process to be included on the list varies between 3 and 10 years, according to applications. This gives us plenty of time to continue covering the capital’s roofs with our shades of grey!
